Such cruel and severe sentences in trials that arbitrarily used the law, and lacked impartiality. The trials also came in light of obtaining confessions from the accused under the pressure of physical torture.

As in the case of Hossam Munufi Mahmoud Salam, whose arrest was on 12 January 2022 after his plane suddenly landed at Luxor International Airport while traveling from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to the Turkish city of Istanbul, and then authorities took him to an unknown location and forcibly disappear him before appearing on 15 January. Supreme State Security Prosecution interrogated him, where he revealed that he had been subjected to physical and psychological torture.

Supreme State Security Prosecution continues to investigate citizens from different governorates appeared after arresting and enforcedly disappearing them as well as charging them with the same charges of “joining a banned group”. Finally, it issues pretrial detention decisions without fair investigation by the Public Prosecution, and only the investigation reports by National Security Sector officers without other evidence to support and recommend them, as the Court of Cassation ruled in many of its rulings.
