The wife of labour leader Shadi Ali Mohamed, who is in pretrial detention on a case of supporting the Palestinian cause, held in Borg El Arab Prison, filed a report to the Attorney General regarding her husband going into an open hunger strike without drinking after his transfer and exile from 10th of Ramadan-VI Prison to Borg El Arab Prison, with the confiscation of his clothes, glasses, as well as all his belongings.
Legal Comment
Labour leader Shadi Mohamed announced that he was going on a hunger strike without drinking in protest of his transfer from the 10th of Ramadan to Borg Al Arab prison, and the confiscation of all his personal belongings.
This confirms that his transfer is merely arbitrary measures, in the absence of the minimum rights of prisoners, as well as a gross disregard for the law.
