Legal Comment

One can describe this week as the rotation week, as Zagazig Public Prosecution Office in Sharqia investigated 20 citizens who had received judicial decisions of release for exceeding the maximum limit of pretrial detention.

Despite this, they once again entered the cycle of pretrial detention on the same charges, with their unjust imprisonment continuing without a crime or evidence.

Decisions continued to renew the imprisonment of hundreds of citizens from terrorist chambers in courts in prisons, without regard to the constitutional principle of protecting the personal freedom of citizens.

Among those hundreds is journalist Medhat Ramadan, who has been in prison for more than four years pending investigations in Case No. 680 of 2020, Supreme State Security.
