- Security forces at Tanta Police Station in Gharbia arrested citizen Shawky Ragab from his home and took him to an unknown location, without presenting him to any investigation authority.

- Egyptian Network for Human Rights posted on its Facebook page, that a National Security officer at Badr-III Prison, Colonel Ahmed Fikry, stormed the cell of Bassem Ouda, the former Minister of Supply, insulting and beating him, and then threatening to escalate the abuse and violations, in an attempt to force him to end his hunger strike.
Tuesday, 23 September
- Lawyer Essam Sultan, Vice President of the Wassat Party, stated before the Cairo Criminal Court, during his trial in Case No. 5263 of 2025, Nasr City-I Felonies, that conditions are deteriorating inside Badr-III Prison, especially Sector-II.
He confirmed that a large number of prisoners are still on hunger strike due to the conditions they are being subjected to, including Dr. Abdel Rahman Al-Barr, a university professor, who has been on hunger strike for the third month, and who lost approximately 50 kilograms and is suffering from severe weakness and a noticeable deterioration in his health.
This is in light of the complete disregard for the strikers’ demands and the absence of any official response to guarantee their basic rights.
Legal Comment
Writer and investigative journalist Ismail Al-Iskandarani was arrested, while passing through a security checkpoint in Marsa Matrouh. He was referred for investigation in Case No. 6469 of 2025, Supreme State Security, and questioned regarding some of the articles he published on Facebook.
This constitutes a continuation of the policy of restricting freedom of expression and spreading a climate of intimidation.
