  2. Public Prosecution in Sharqia investigated 3 citizens after they reappeared from different periods of enforced disappearance and then remanded them in custody on charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news and statements.
  3. Cairo Criminal Court, Terrorism Chambers, held at Badr Prison continues the trials of hundreds of citizens, including journalist Tawfiq Ghanem, in cases referred by the Supreme State Security Prosecution.

  • 10th of Ramadan Prosecution in Sharqia investigated Bilal Ahmed Refaat after arresting him from his home and putting him in 25 days enforced disappearance, and then accused him of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news and statements placing him in pretrial detention.

Wednesday, 13 August

  1. Zagazig Station Prosecution in Sharqia investigated both Saber Mohamed Arafa and Saber Attia Ibrahim after arresting them from their homes, putting them in 11 days enforced disappearance, accusing them of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news and statements and then placing them in pretrial detention.

Monday, 11 August

  • Cairo Criminal Court of Appeals ruled to overturn the ruling by Cairo Criminal Court against Moataz, Mohamed, and Mona El-Shazli, the children of Kamal El-Shazli, former Minister of State for People Assembly and Shura Council Affairs under former President Hosni Mubarak, to 1-year imprisonment for illicit gains. The court ruled to dismiss the case because it was filed in a manner not prescribed by law, and the case was returned to the Public Prosecution Office for further action..

  • Tamer Hosni Abdel Hamid Dasuki, a citizen serving a life sentence in the case known in the media as the Giza Terrorist Cell case, died in Menia Prison Hospital after his health deteriorated due to heart failure.
