They are Mostafa Saeed, Marwan Amir, Mohamed Tarek, and Islam Sobhi El-Shahat.
  2. Zagazig-II Prosecution interrogated both Abdel-Magied Kamal and Yasser Sobhi El-Ghandour after arresting them from their homes on charges of joining a terrorist group and disseminating false news and statements, and then placed him in pretrial detention.

  1. The House of Representatives approved, during an exceptional session, a draft law amending certain provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law No. 174 of 2025. The amendment postpones the implementation of the law for one year, setting the effective date for October 1, 2027.

Thursday 1 October

  1. The Ministry of Interior issued a statement via its official Facebook page addressing the controversy surrounding the arrest of 6 journalists from the “Matsaddash” platform.

The Ministry stated that the page is unlicensed, managed from abroad, and disseminates misinformation and distorts facts; it further alleged that the page operates as part of the media apparatus of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood.

The Ministry affirmed that the arrest of the journalists was conducted in accordance with legal procedures and noted that one of them is a member of the Journalists Syndicate, and that the head of the Syndicate was notified at the time of the arrest.

  1. The Ministry of Interior announced via its official Facebook page the granting of an exceptional visit for prison inmates from Saturday, October 10, 2026, to Thursday, November 5, 2026.

This exceptional visit does not count among the regular visitation quota and is being granted in observance of the October Victory celebrations.

  1. Juwar Relief Foundation announced on its Facebook page the death of lawyer Nagah Mohamed Mabrouk while in custody at Menia Maximum Security Prison, following health deterioration and a two-week period during which he was left without medical intervention.

  1. Juwar Relief Foundation announced on its Facebook page that a number of death-row inmates at the Menia Maximum-Security Prison have been on hunger strike for the 3rd consecutive day. The prisoners, identified as Ahmed Amin (from Mansoura), Ahmed Abdel-Halim Abdel-Hafez (from Sharqia), Mostafa Ramadan, Ali Maher, and Mohamed Aref (from Menia), as well as Mostafa Ragab, Ramadan Gamal Shalqami, and the visually impaired inmate Mohamed Al-Arabi, are striking to protest ongoing violations and harsh conditions that deprive them of their most basic human rights
